Happy Monday! I hope you had a fabulous weekend! We took it easy on our last weekend here in Minnesota. I have to say, without question, it was the most beautiful weather we've seen--78 degrees and sunny. I think Minnesota was trying hard to give us something to miss when we're gone :)
I know I've posted a lot of gymnastic-related posts and I promise today will be my last one. I'm sure like me, many of you watched Gabby Douglas' incredible performance to win the women's all-around gold medal. I was completely hooked!
I've mentioned before that not only does she hail from Virginia Beach, but she's a Christian. Here's what I love about Gabby--she's not just some athlete who thanks God after she wins and then goes about her day, but she inhales God's word and makes sure that He gets the glory for everything. It's amazing! What's even more amazing is that she's only 16! Her strength, determination, and faith is such an incredible inspiration to me.
Below is a video from her church in Iowa right before she left for the Olympics with her mom, her "2nd parents" that care for her while she trains in Iowa, and her pastor. Jump ahead to about 2:30 and you'll see what I'm talking about.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)
I love this girl!
