Everlasting Love

 

“I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.

In case you didn’t know, Valentine’s Day is right around the corner…while many of us are busy cutting out doilies and eating mysterious pink filled chocolates, let’s not forget to dwell on God’s incredible love for us.

 
Not only does our “love challenge” parallel with Lent, but it also coincides with the world’s “season of love.” Today and tomorrow as we’re writing our Valentines, wearing our pink sweaters, and longing for love, may we remember that no matter who loves us on earth, God loves us with an everlasting love.

 
Three years ago, I claimed Jeremiah 31:3 as my “Valentine from the Lord.” As cheesy as that might sound, it was amazing to rest in His everlasting, abundant, and lavish love. God’s love is perfect—today, may we feel and experience His incredible love for us.

Father God, thank you for your perfect love. Sometimes my heart is desperately seeking love from so many different directions, but you are the only one whose love is everlasting. When my heart is longing for love, may YOU be the first place that I run. Only you have the ability to satisfy the deepest longings of my heart. Lord, with all that I am, I long to love you. Thank you for the way that you love me.
